beats on the bank 2026

On Saturday, 2 May 2026, Djarii Bila: Beats on the Bank took over Fotheringham Park on Biripi Country, turning the banks of the Manning River into a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and connection. From the gates opening at 10am until the final notes faded at 9pm, the day was packed with an electric mix of local legends, homegrown Aussie artists, and national touring acts.

It was a showcase of what’s possible right here in our backyard. Organised by local student Patrick Hayes and a passionate team of music lovers, the festival successfully bridged the gap between emerging talent and established stars. The line-up featured incredible performances from Sam Stephens, Amara Paige, Chloe Hicks, Jack the Bread Guy Trio, Patrick Hayes, Luella Deville, Lucas Cavanagh and the Trainwrecks, the PCYC group performance, Charlie O’Derry, Tom Harrington, Jake Davey Band, Sunday Lemonade, and Jack Botts.

For the families and music fans who filled the park, it was a chance to cheer on the next generation of artists while enjoying a full day of good vibes. As organiser Patrick Hayes put it:

“It was an amazing turnout for a first event of its kind, and with that, it gives room to grow next time and to have goals for our growth over the years… It’s as much as it’s about getting people down there for these big acts that have travelled who are incredible to listen to, it’s also about seeing we actually have talent like this in our area.”

With a successful turnout and a day that went off without a hitch, the dream of making this an annual tradition is already taking shape. Massive thanks to Patrick Hayes, the Taree Universities Campus team, the entire organising cohort, and every performer who gave their all. And of course, a huge thank-you to the community who showed up to celebrate our local scene.
